The healthiest vegetables are always green. Greens are undoubtedly healthy, but vegetables and fruits in other colors—red, orange, yellow, blue, and purple—all bring different nutrients to the table. You’ll get the most antioxidants, vitamins and minerals if you keep your plate colorful.



A lot of restaurants now serve olive oil instead of butter with bread. That’s smart in the sense that olive oil is heart healthy and butter is not.

But a new study found that dipping into the olive oil can be more fattening than spreading on butter: Because bread soaks up oil like a sponge, the dippers’ consumption of olive oil was about 26 percent greater than the spreaders’ consumption of butter.

So be careful when you opt for olive oil; too much of a good thing may not be too good after all.
